Hi guys! Something I wanted to do as part of my weightless plan was to subscribe to some kind of weight loss box subscription. After looking around a little bit I decided to go with the Bulu subscription box. With this subscription, each month you receive a box packed with samples which include healthy snacks, supplements, drinks, accessories, and more. There are two boxes, an ‘original’ Bulu box that is geared toward overall health, and a ‘weight loss’ box, which is the one I ordered and will be doing this review on.
The Bulu website is very easy to navigate. Once you decide on which box you want, you take a little survey which includes a series of questions to so your box will be customized just to you. For instance, I stated that I’m not a fan of supplements but I am interested in low calorie snacks, teas, and anything that will help me relax.
You can order just one box at a time, or a 3-month, 6-month, or 12 month subscription. Each bulu box costs $10, unless you order the 12 month subscription in which case you are only paying $110 altogether, or $9.17 per box. I think $10 is a reasonable price considering all the “goodies” you get.
My order was supposed to ship on January 15 and I received the box on January 17, so I was pleasantly surprised at the fast delivery.
The box was actually a lot smaller than I had imagined it would be. I don’t know why because there are pictures of the boxes on the bulu website so it was just my mistake.
When I opened the box I noticed a cute card right on top along with some coupons. The card read: “If friends were flowers I’d pick you.” It was super cute and it was black and white so you could color it if that’s your thing (I love to color), or you could frame it and hang it on your wall. (Free wall decor)! The card was actually a post card and had a coupon code on the back for 20% off. The other coupons included a $2 off coupon for an anti-stress drink (something I totally need), a coupon for free shipping on any order over $25, and the last coupon was three deals in one, a BOGO sale, a free 6 Months of boxes when you buy a weight loss kit, and a free $5 when you fill out one of their surveys. I’m not huge on coupons unless it’s something I really need, but I’ll just hold onto these just in case.
After looking through the card and coupons I opened the box and pulled back the bright orange tissue paper to find a ton of cool stuff! Right on top were two low-calorie snack bags of popcorn: sea salt, and Cinnabon. (I love low-calorie snacks. They get me through the day right now while I’m trying to lose this weight.) The snacks, however, weren’t organic and I’m not a fan of genetically modified popcorn, or anything else for that matter.
Under the popcorn I found two low calorie bars, one was low carb. Next to the bars were two packets of a calm-inducing calcium powder drink, two tea bags of organic tea; green tea and lavender ( I love lavender), a Mag O7 cleanse and detox supplement, and finally, a vitamin E anti-aging and anti-oxidant moisturizing stick for lips and around the eyes.
The great thing about this box is every item inside is something I will actually use. I am always looking for low-calorie snacks when I go grocery shopping, I love tea, I’m totally up for trying the calming calcium drink; I’ll trying anything that claims to “calm”, I’ll definitely give the detox supplements a shot (who doesn’t want to cleanse their body of toxins?), and I am all about anything anti-aging. So all in all, I would say this box was worth the price and the contents inside–I only wish they had more organic snacks. If you’re trying to lose weight, it might just give you a little more motivation–it definitely gives me something to look forward to every month.
I’ll give another update on my next box in January.
